Description of my work

Crescent Weaving is the logical outgrowth of my continuing love for all sorts of fibers and the wonderful ways the combine. With the help of a software program and my looms I design and weave items for personal use (scarves, etc.) and the home (table runners, afghans, pillows). My style is eclectic, drawing for inspiration upon traditional; color-and weave effects, pick-up techniques, inlays and block weaves. I use natural fibers (I do some spinning and dyeing), but I occasionally mix in man-made types when they best suit my purpose and create a softer or more elegant result. My primary goal, of course, is to weave good, functional fabric. What I like to do in addition is to explore fabric as a textured, organized web of color relationships, lines and abstract shapes.
